Are you an experienced inpatient and outpatient coder, passionate about providing accurate coding support in a hospital setting? Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital is looking for you! We are currently recruiting for a full-time Medical Records Specialist - Coder position.

Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital (AGBH) is an 80-bed facility, serving the adolescent, adult, and detox/rehab population and is located in Orem, Utah. Your position goals and objectives include:

  • Supporting the medical records department through a variety of clerical, technical and related support services.
  • Coding discharged patients' accounts.
  • Prepare the patient chart for discharge process and assemble components in the correct order.
  • Assigns and abstracts medical and consultant data.
Qualifications

Your qualifications and experience will include:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED

Experience: Two years of experience as a coder with Medical Records preferred 

Licensure/Certification: CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCA (Certified Coding Associate), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) REQUIRED. RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) preferred.

Other: Must be at least 21 years of age or older and able to pass a background check and drug screen

Knowledge: Health Information Management systems and operations. Computer literate; skill sets to work in a fast-paced environment.
